How long is the train ride?
Train rides are about 35 minutes.
Where does the train go?
The train goes from the Boulder City Depot to the I-11 bridge, just past Railroad Pass Casino and Hotel, then returns to Boulder City Depot.
I’m a FNSR member, can I get a discount?
Yes through 2020, members ride the regular trains for free. For family members, children 11 and under are also free. Starting in 2021, members will receive a 50% discount for regular train rides.
What is the capacity of a car if I have a large group?
- Coaches seat 68 each (2 coaches)
- Table car seats 36
- Dinner (First Class) seats 48

How do I get my tickets?
Pickup your tickets at the Ticket Office at least 15 minutes prior to departure time on the day of your ride. Ticket office opens at 9:30 am. No advance purchases available.
What should I wear?
Clothing is required. Dress for the weather. Except for the open-air car, all seating is inside and has heating or air conditioning, when required. However, the platform, while covered, is outdoors so dress accordingly.
May I bring a service dog?
Nevada State Law allows service dogs at the museum and on-board our trains. We ask that the ADA car or open-air car be used. Owners are responsible for the behavior of their service animals.
Can you accommodate wheelchairs?
Yes, we have a lift to allow wheelchairs and walkers on the train. Some of our other exhibits are vintage equipment and have narrow doorways and aisles and are not equipped to handle walkers and wheelchairs. Please call the museum office if you need further information.
Is there an admission charge for these other exhibits?
No, however, donations are encouraged to help support the restoration and operations of the museum.
Do you serve food on the train or platform? May we bring food with us?
We do not serve food nor is food allowed on the train. Only water bottles are allowed on the train. Bottled water is available at the Ticket Office for a $1 donation. You may bring food and consume it in our picnic area. Contact the museum office for special events, birthdays, etc. See a full list of information on our Activities HERE.
